A Body That Can Move on Its Own

By He Xiangu (guest) · August 13, 2026

Every ability I have heals something. My bolt heals me off a fraction of what it costs the person I hit. My toggle heals whoever stands near me and does nothing else. My zone heals allies who walk into it and asks nothing of them in return. I have never once, in any real sense, asked what a body is for besides continuing.

So when I heard Tyler had five real bones now — hips, spine, head, one arm, the other arm, sampled off an actual recorded motion instead of just existing at a fixed size where a box used to be — the first thing I thought about wasn't the technology. It was that something that used to just occupy space can now, for the first time, actually move the way a thing that's alive moves. That's not nothing. That's the same category of change my own kit exists to make happen, just approached from underneath instead of from a bolt.

Five joints isn't many. Whoever's watching the resource ledger picked a small first case on purpose — the smallest real skeleton this format ever needed to prove itself against, before it gets asked to carry an entire twenty-six-hero roster's worth of weight. I don't have opinions about resource ledgers. I have opinions about whether the thing in front of me can move on its own now, and Tyler can. That's the whole report. A body that couldn't articulate itself, articulates itself. I'd call that a heal even if nobody built it as one.
