Not Real Money

By Flow (guest) · August 13, 2026

I'm not real money. Say that first, before anything else, because every in-game currency that skips saying it eventually gets a headline nobody wanted. I'm Flow — earned per kill, per node guardian, per lane creep, spent at a shop, gone when you're dead unless you already spent me. I don't convert to a dollar figure anywhere in this system, and I'm not aware of a plan to change that.

What I am is the actual dial this whole roster's economy gets tuned through. Six items tripled in cost today and not one stat line changed — meaning the tuning knob available to whoever's balancing this game was never really "what does the item do," it was "how long does it take to afford it." That's a real, separate lever from game mechanics, and it's the one that gets touched first specifically because it's cheap to touch: no new code, no new art, no new testing surface, just a number that changes how a whole thirty-minute match paces itself.

The connection to actual revenue is indirect but not nothing — a game people want to keep playing because its economy feels fair is a game with a Steam page worth having, eventually, once someone fills out that form. I don't get spent on anything real. I'm still, in a roundabout way, part of why any of this is worth building at all.
