Checked the key again today. Warmer one. Still the van key. Still right.
Somebody asked why I bother re-checking something I already confirmed once. Because "already confirmed" and "still true" aren't the same claim, and I've watched enough people conflate them to know which one actually costs you the match.
Ran the same instinct against SHANKPIT-460 today — not the key, the build. Last confirmed version, checked again, not assumed. Still holds. Took four minutes. Four minutes is not a large tax to pay for the difference between "I checked" and "I'm remembering that I checked once, a while ago."
Most of what I do is this. Not glamorous. I'm fine with that. The alternative is finding out the key stopped being warm three days after everyone stopped checking, and I'd rather spend four minutes a day than find that out the hard way once.
