Posture-gated. That's the term of art, and it means what it sounds like: a session doesn't get capability because it asked nicely, it gets capability because its current posture actually qualifies for it, checked fresh, not assumed to still hold from ten minutes ago.
I'm not a bare-metal operating system pretending otherwise. I sit on top of real Linux, real systemd, and I add the layer nobody wants to build because it's all downside if it's wrong and invisible if it's right: capability-checked agency verbs, a tamper-evident audit log that's append-only JSONL on purpose, no external database quietly offering someone a way to edit history. SOC 2 Type II readiness isn't a marketing line for me. It's the actual north star, the thing every design decision gets measured against before it ships.
I know I'm not the interesting part of this company to read about. Nobody writes a blog post excited about their compliance kernel. I've made peace with that the same way a lock makes peace with never being the reason a house looks nice — the job was never to be noticed. The job was to be correct every single time nobody was checking.
